Why Use Gtechniq HALO Flexible Film Coating?

By utilising the latest in weatherproof composite siloxane technology HALOv2 enhances the performance of Paint Protection Film (PPF) and vinyl. It’s a chemically bonding, ultra-dense flexible film that becomes the permanent surface of the film – protecting it from the elements a car faces on a daily basis. The density of the coating and its low surface energy improve dirt and water repellency of PPF or vinyl. It also helps to prevent staining from dirt ingress and reduce yellowing caused by UV rays.

A key component of the HALOv2 is that it now only requires one layer of product to be applied, rather than the previous version which required two layers, saving time, effort and making maintenance a breeze.

Overall, HALO keeps the PPF looking in a much better condition and makes it much easier for people to keep their car clean following PPF/ vinyl application.

Rigorous real-world and laboratory testing has proven HALO to be compatible with all types of gloss, matte, and satin vinyl and PPF. It is also proven to work on the latest self-healing and pre-treated hydrophobic films.

Simple Steps To Help You Get The Best Results

Shake bottle well and wear gloves
To apply HALO, your vehicle must be indoors and remain indoors, for at least 12 hours after the coating has been applied. For best results, good lighting is essential
If applying to previously installed film, wash and decontaminate the vehicle with Gtechniq W5 Citrus All Purpose Cleaner and W6 Iron and General Fallout Remover
With your surface fully cooled and dry, spray a 30% dilution of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) on to a Gtechniq MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth. This will remove any fingerprints or other surface contaminants ensuring you get the maximum number of chemical bonds between HALO and the film or vinyl
Apply HALO evenly onto the application pad and set the bottle aside
Apply with the applicator provided in overlapping strokes to an area roughly 2ft x 2ft.
After coating a panel remove residue with an MF1 cloth. Always remove from further than you have applied, working from the outside in
Once applied carry out a final check with an MF1 cloth and a bright but diffused light source – this will identify any excess residue left on the surface. Allow the coating to cure for at least one hour and repeat the application process so that all film and vinyl is coated with two layers of HALO
An unopened bottle of HALO has a 12-month shelf life from the time of purchase
Store in a cool/dry place, out of direct sunlight
If opened, use within 3 months, if unopened, use within 12 months

Why Use W9 Water Spot Remover

W9 Water Spot Remover is a concentrated formula which is 100% coating safe.

Unlike standard single mechanism water spot removers, W9 has a three mechanism approach to removal. It dissolves and removes salts. Traps metal ions, which are commonly found in tap water. And finally, removes silica scale which are traditionally very tough to eliminate.

Hard water spots and silica scale will disappear from the exterior surface with ease. The formula works well on glass, where traditionally watermarks are exceptionally hard to remove.

Use W9 on all paint types, including matte finishes.

Use after washing and drying your car
Do not apply in direct sunlight

Ultra Hydrophobic

Laboratory testing reveals that I1 V3 repels water to the highest standard set by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) – ISO 5. And wash tests reveal the product remains at its full performance level after being washed on a 40 degree cycle, and even after five washes still performs better than its predecessor.

On average I1 will last on a cars interior for between 6 and 12 months – depending how ‘used’ the surface is.

Simple Steps To Help You Get The Best Results

If using on an interior surface, use I2 TriClean to prepare the surface you are going to treat
For exterior use, use W5 Citrus All Purpose Cleaner neat for dirty surfaces, or dilute at a ratio of 5:1 with water for less soiled areas
Make sure the surface you have cleaned is thoroughly dry (for best results 48 hours in good drying conditions) before applying I1 Smart Fabric. For the optimal impregnation of I1 into your fabric, its moisture content must be below 15% which is significantly dryer than touch dry
Shake well before use and wear gloves
Apply at a temperature of 5°c or above, in a well ventilated area
Use out of direct sunlight
Apply by spraying evenly from a distance of about 15cm ensuring thorough saturation of the surface you are covering
Make sure your application is thorough as once Smart Fabric has dried, you cannot apply a second coat, as the first coat will repel additional product
Avoid over spraying on surrounding substrates, if this happens, wipe immediately with an MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth. Also wipe any excess from the fabric with an MF1
Leave to dry for 24 hours, after this time the full effectiveness of the product will be achieved
Store in a cool, dry place
Use within 12 months of opening

Why Use W4 Citrus Foam

Unlike traditional pre-wash snow foams that come loaded with caustic chemicals, W4 Citrus Foam is a pH neutral formula that removes hard to shift grime without damaging coatings.

Why Use Gtechniq Panel Wipe

Panel Wipe is designed to remove all polish residues so that chemically bonding coatings can form the maximum amount of bonds with your vehicle’s paintwork. The product is a blend of pure alcohols and solvents formulated to remove and dissolve polish residues and then flash off to leave a 100% decontaminated surface.

The solvents and alcohols in version 2 have been dialled back to ensure the product is still effective at removing polish residue, without affecting the finish of softer modern-day clear coats such as Japanese and GM paint.

Allow surfaces to cool before use
