Admittedly, our first thought when we announced the Auto Graph Citrine Traffic Film Remover was: an all-purpose cleaner with a cooler name. Anyone who knows us knows that we communicate this to manufacturers. Auto Graph’s reaction was not long in coming:

The Citrine Traffic Film Remover is a concentrate like an APC, but according to the manufacturer it has completely different ingredients. This becomes apparent when you look at the areas of application. While an all-purpose cleaner can also be used in the interior, on upholstery and plastics, depending on the mixture, the Citrine is ONLY intended for cleaning paintwork.

Buzzword Traffic Film

In recent years, the term “traffic film” has become more and more popular among car care professionals. Translated, however, it means nothing other than “road dirt” and is therefore not exactly a new phenomenon. Basically, a traffic film remover works against all types of dirt on the car that accumulates through use. Be it general dirt from driving in wet conditions, dirt after the winter and everything else that doesn’t belong on the car.

To use another buzzword: Such a cleaner should be in the direction of “touchless cleaning”. But we have been trying to do exactly that for decades by using all-purpose cleaners, foams, etc. So in itself, nothing new.

Pre-spraying achieves the goal

The Auto Graph Citrine Traffic Film Remover is always applied BEFORE hand washing. A pressure sprayer such as the IK Multi Pro 2 is recommended, or for partial application simply a spray bottle. Depending on the degree of soiling, Citrine can be diluted in a ratio of 1:10 to 1:30.

As the experienced car care professional can already imagine, a Citrine Traffic Film Remover also has an alkaline effect. However, the pH value of 10 is not extremely high and decreases slightly depending on the mixture. This also shows that other active ingredients are used in Citrine, as the pH value is significantly lower than that of a typical all-purpose cleaner.
